Head of the Schoolgirls Regatta
The Lauriston rowing squad line up this weekend against all other schoolgirl rowing crews in Geelong for the one event they train so hard for.
The annual Head of the Schoolgirls Regatta is on the Barwon River, Geelong and goes over 3 days, 17 – 19 March. We are proud to have 2 Year 10 quad sculls and 3 senior IVs racing. All crews have worked hard this term to hone their racing skills and the coaches and girls are both excited to complete the season of racing.
Our Yr 10 quad sculls and 3rd Senior coxed IV race their heats on Friday afternoon from 12.30 and our 2nd & 1st Senior IVs commence racing on Saturday morning. All crews will race in finals on Sunday commencing at 10.30am.
This is an amazing event and is the largest schoolgirl sporting event in the southern hemisphere and we would welcome anyone from the Lauriston community to join us on the riverbank. There will be a Lauriston marquee on the finish line to join rowing families and watch our girls race. Food and refreshments are readily available in the area just behind the spectator marquees.
